Bottom Pouring sets
Somal Refractories has been manufacturing Bottom Pouring sets since 1974. Bottom Pouring sets are mainly used in Ingot Casting. They range from 30% Alumina to 90% Alumina. The main features are thermal stability and extremely high Abrasion resistance. This main requirement of Bottom Pouring refractory are high thermal shock resistance , high hot strength and high chemical stability at very high temperatures.
Bauxite Bricks
Manufactured from Guyana/Chinese Bauxite and are widely used in steel ladles .The Bauxite brick ranges from 50% to 85% alumina. Appropriate for applications upto 1700*c
Siliminite Andalusite
These are made with a combination of sillimanite/ Andalusite and fused Alumina or fused mullite depending on the application.These have lower iron as compared to Bauxite bricks and have exceptional Hot properties. The most widely used product is the 62 dense brick.
Mullite bricks
Mullet bricks are used in very high temperature applications with Alumina content greater than 70% and are usually made with a combination of fused mullite and tabular Alumna.
Custom shapes
Somal Refractories have the capability of manufacturing all kinds of custom shapes as desired by the client and any desired quality. We have a very tight dimensional tolerance and can meet specifications of the highest standard.
Low cement castables
Range from 45% to 95%Alumina content.These are made up of Alumina aggregates and high temperature cement. They have very high corrosion and erosion resistance, hot strength ,low porosity and thermal stability.The application process is by mode of vibration.
Conventional Castables
They range from 60% to 95% Alumna. They are made with aluminous aggregate and high temperature cement. The application is through vibration casting or by hand.
Insulating Castables
They are designed to display low density and low thermal conductivity and are produced in the density range 400 to 1600kg per meter cube .Specially developed for applications where high insulation vales are required and as an alternative for ceramic fibres.
Ultralow cement castable
These have a very low lying content of less than 1%. They have a very high density and abrasion resistance.
Plastic Masses
Plastic refractories are supplied in an unfired and formable condition. The application is by hand or with the use of a pneumatic hammer.These products are used for original installation and patching.They are perfect for emergency repairs as the installation time is quick and seamless.
Neutral Ramming Mass
Somal Neutral Ramming mass is made with a combination of Insitu and preformed spinal.The Insitu spinals synthesises at high temperatures inside the refractory lining creating a unique 3 layer structure. The outer most layer in contact with the molten metal is a hard sintered surface followed by an intermediate fritted layer.The inner most layer remains in a powdery form.
